Part-Time Field/Pre-Election organizer for the Davenport Ontario NDP/Independent Contractor
The Davenport Ontario NDP Riding Association (Davenport ONDP) is seeking one or more part-time field organizers to join our outreach team. Successful candidates will work directly with our Election Planning Committee to prepare for a potential early election.
The Davenport Ontario NDP encourages applications from diverse communities, including: Aboriginal and First Nations people, racialised people, people with disabilities, members of queer communities, including lesbian, gay, bisexual and, transgender people and women.
Specific Duties to include:
● Managing Volunteer recruitment and training; through agnes
● Organizing regular canvass training and weekly canvasses;
● Preparation for outreach events;
● Fundraising through direct ask, event organizing, and direct mail;
● Supervising data entry through Populus.
Skills and Qualifications:
● Must be self-motivated and work with minimal direct supervision;
● Dedicated to the principles of social justice, community building and must
support the ONDP and its positions;
● Experience with community or issue-based campaign organizing, and
previous ONDP involvement is an asset;
● Ability to work well with others as part of a team in a member-based, public,
high-pressure environment,
● Experience, paid or volunteer, in conducting outreach, recruiting, managing
and training volunteers;
● Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both by phone and in
person;
● Well organized, with excellent record-keeping skills and attention to details;
● Knowledge/experience working in Davenport riding and/or Toronto ridings
considered an asset;
● Experience with Populus or similar database tools is an asset;
● Experience with Agnes is an asset;
● Proficiency in Portuguese is an asset;
● Advanced social media and online campaign experience is an asset;
● Willingness to work irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
Job Type: Independent Contractor (5-20 hours per week -hours fluctuate based on the workload). We offer competitive compensation and an inspiring workplace culture.

Pay:
$25 - $28.00 per hour Expected hours: 5 – 20 per week
Schedule:
● Flexible hours
● Monday to Friday
● Weekends/Evenings as needed
Work Location: Hybrid (remote, and in-person)
