We are seeking a Pre-Election Organizer to support the Davenport Provincial NDP constituency association, as we work to re-elect our amazing MPP, Marit Stiles.

Our ideal candidate has a record of planning and executing successful outreach and voter contact campaigns, a passion for progressive politics and a drive to win. We’re looking for someone with experience recruiting,  training and mobilizing a network of volunteers who can help us hit monthly goals in voter contact and fundraising as we prepare for the June, 2022 provincial election. 

ROLE OF THE PRE-ELECTION ORGANIZER includes (but is not limited to):

Outreach to, and engagement with voters by phone, email and in-person
Recruiting and training volunteers;
Engaging existing members and supporters;
Fundraising;
Data Management

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Planning:

  • Working with the Election Planning Committee (EPC), campaign team and volunteers to develop an engagement plan, including measured campaign goals.
  • Designing and implementing an engagement and volunteer recruitment plan.
  • Analyzing campaign progress and recommending refinements.
  • Participating in training sessions and workshops run by the provincial party.

Outreach:

  • Organizing canvasses, literature drops, and phone banks using CallHub.
  • Training volunteers with various experiences.
  • Attending events with the candidate and helping to boost visibility at festivals and public events .

Digital:

  • Using digital engagement tools (NDP Tools, Nationbuilder, Populus) to build and maintain support lists.
  • Writing compelling email updates and persuasive fundraising emails.

REQUIREMENTS

Great communication skills.
Painstaking attention to detail.
Superior self-organization and ability to coordinate multiple projects with minimal supervision.
Relationship-building skills for cooperation and coordination between volunteers and staff
Sharp political acumen.
Dedication to our goals of a greener, fairer, more just and prosperous society, achieved through electing an NDP government.
Flexible hours to meet with volunteers evenings and weekends as required.
Knowledge of Portuguese is considered an asset.

POSITION DETAILS

The Pre-Election Campaign Organizer will report to the Election Planning Committee Co-Chairs and will work closely with volunteers to execute our campaign strategy. In particular, they will work closely alongside our Communications, Fundraising, Outreach and Events Committee Coordinators.

The rate of pay is $25 per hour and based on a 20 hour work week, with potential for more hours as election approaches. This role will require work on weekends and evenings.

The Pre-election Organizer will be required to use their own computer and phone (with reimbursement of up to $50/month for phone and internet related charges while working remotely.)

Given the nature of our work, we will require strict confidentiality. The successful candidate will be required to sign a confidentiality agreement.
